{1} Terms of Service

 

{1.1} Our Terms of Service apply to every part of our server and community. Be it the server itself, forums, discords (both official and affiliated), etc

{1.2} Staff are to be present on all affiliated discord servers. Furthermore, they must have access to all hidden channels.

{1.3} Players are allowed to manage their affiliated discords, they may also have their own additional rules. However, these rules may not override or contradict any of the official Mortal Tales rules.

{1.4} Only Whitelisted members of the community should be permitted on an affiliated discord

{1.5} Any member that has received a permanent ban must be removed from all affiliated discords. 

{1.6} Doxing or releasing private information of another member of the community without their consent is not allowed.

{1.7} Any graphic content or comments that may cause members of the community discomfort, such as torture is disallowed unless any and all witnessing members of such have given their express consent for such. However, should any express their discomfort and wish to cease going forward with such RP it must be respected and stopped instantly. This request must be made before any action has been taken. It is not up to the recipient to have to act first. Sexual content is never allowed even with player consent.

 

{2} General Rules

{2.1} Be friendly, always use courtesy and common sense.

{2.2} Mods/hacks/exploits are banned. If you are caught using any you shall be punished accordingly. Things that only affect visuals and immersion are allowed and are fine to use. Such as resource packs, shaders, and optifine. If you are unsure if what you want to use is allowed or not, always ask a member of staff before using it.

{2.3} Members of staff always have the final ruling. If you go against such a ruling you may be punished accordingly. However, if you feel the ruling was wrong and have reasoning you may present your case to an admin or even owner.

{2.4} ERP is banned on Mortal Tales and shall not be accepted in any way, shape or form. ERP stands for erotic roleplay. It shall not be permitted on the server in any case, If found out that members are practising erp then it shall be handled very seriously by our Admin team. However such things as kissing, and fading to black are allowed

{2.5} Griefing is not allowed. The roleplay world is not a place to collect materials. Please go to city gathering spots to gather any resources you may need.

{2.6} Building must be done realistically and with the time period in mind. If your builds are not seen as adequate to such then they will have to be redone, either by yourself or by a member of staff. In the event that the build cannot be redone, for example, if the builder is inactive, then the area will be rolled back and your build removed.

{2.7} The Advertisement of any other server is not allowed. 

{2.8} Alt accounts are not allowed on Mortal Tales. We ask that you stick with one account, however, if you must change to a different account please speak with the staff team so they may unwhitelist your previous account. 

{2.9} Killing other players or excessively hitting them for no reason shall all be considered rdm and is not allowed on our server. If you wish to fight another player through roleplay then please go about it by the proper means.

{2.10} Unpermitted theft is not allowed. If you would like to engage in theft RP, i.e. stealing an item from another player, contact staff for permission to do so, unless it falls within the allowed theft section mentioned in the hostile rules.

{2.11} Do not impersonate any members of the staff team under any circumstances.

{2.12} Always be honest OOC with a member of staff, they have the community's best interest at heart.

{2.13} Manipulation OOC is strictly not allowed under any circumstances.

{3} Chat Rules

​

{3.1} Global is to be used as the server-wide OOC chat. You may casually chat with people on the server in this chat. However, it is requested that any touchy subjects be avoided.

{3.2} English is the only language permitted in Global

{3.3} Do not use any offensive words/slurs in global

{3.4} Coordinates are not to be posted in global unless special staff permission is granted.

{3.5} There are several chats for RP. The first being the local chat where people in your general area can hear and talk to you. Secondly, the shout chat expands on the area where people can hear you to a much greater distance, Lastly is the whisper chat, which will make the hearing range smaller for more secretive conversation. Note that the main use of all of these chats is for roleplay purposes. Yet if you wish to make an OOC comment please use brackets before your words.

{3.6} /message is an OOC chat that you may have with one person. However, keep in mind that admins can access these messages when required.

{3.7} Spamming will not be tolerated in any of the chats.

{4} Roleplay Rules

{4.1} Make sure to use the correct skin that does not break away from the roleplay and is accurate to the setting.

{4.2} Metagaming is not allowed. Metagaming is to use knowledge that you have gained from OOC means, to use and benefit in Roleplay.

{4.3} You are always considered in character unless you have been given special perms from staff. This means that unless you have those perms you can always be interacted with/witnessed.

{4.4} While people may lie in character, out-of-character lying is not allowed. Manipulating someone by lying to them out of character shall not be permitted. While you don’t have to tell someone the truth, you cannot lie. For example, if you plan to arrest someone, you cannot lure them to a place by saying OOC you want to show them something.

{4.5} If an emergency arises or your life simply takes you away from roleplay it is up to all of the players in the current situation, to come up with a conclusion as to how their interaction may have ended. If the players cannot reach a conclusion together then the rp is simply paused until they may all return to it.

{4.6} You are not allowed to plagiarise real-life books, or movies, or other such media to make your character. However, this does not mean that you can’t take inspiration from such.

{4.7} Please make sure that you read up on the race and religion that the character you are making is a part of. There may be details that you must keep in mind to be able to portray them accurately and avoid fail-rp.

{4.8} All Roleplay posts must have a corresponding sign/place to find it in-game. As this is still set in the middle ages. word does not get around instantly. 

{4.9} Powergaming is not allowed. Powergaming is the act of using an in-game mechanic, any external information, or a roleplay concept to favour your own character or story and give them an unfair or unrealistic advantage.

{5} Character Rules

​

{5.1} You are not allowed to clone a character that either you or someone else has played. This means that they cannot be the exact same person.

{5.2} You may not make infinite family members of dead characters so you may come back as them

{5.3} Do not make new characters based only on vengeance.

{5.4} You may not make a character younger than 12 years old.

{5.5} Characters younger than 16 may not participate in any romantic rp.

{5.6} Each player will have two character slots which they can use to keep other characters on a shelf while playing another. They may switch between these characters every week. Unless they have committed a hostile action within a week. 

{5.7} Should you wish to play a character with a background of high standing (I.e. saying your character was related to a former npc king) you will need staff permission to do so.

{5.8} Should you create a character with a purposefully silly name, it will be counted as FailRP and you will be asked to change it.
