Distant land of Nareen

Lost to Legend

To the west of Rheanor, on a far away coast were the lands of Nareen. A famous land for its great power and wealth. While the continent itself was smaller than Rheanor, it was the fact that it was completely unified that allowed it to prosper as it did. It was ruled by a famed dynasty that oversaw its rise to power.

Not many had ever made the trip

to visit Nareen, as it was quite  a sail to get there. Yet the merchants that did make the trip brought back tales and many luxury goods from the continent. Wines, jewels, gold and art were some of many imports from Nareen. The merchants spoke of great architecture, overwhelming markets that had any good a man could wish for. As well as massive fleets and fortresses in which to protect their people and wealth.

It must be said that almost all of these stories are from one coastal trading centre in Nareen. The city of King’s Port, was where most merchants always made landfall. These merchants or travellers would rarely leave this port city, as it already had everything they wanted. The rest of Nareen had always remained a mystery to the people of Rheanor. One that they could fantasise about, and as the fantasies continued the land only became more mythical and inspiring.

Nareen became a story on everybody's lips back in Rheanor. So great was the mystery and fantasy of this great continent and people it eventually seemed to fade into just that, a fantasy. Merchants ceased returning from Nareen, and so they stopped going. People still spoke of the continent, yet not many wanted to make the trip, the few who did rarely returned, and even fewer wished to talk about that trip. And so after many years Nareen faded from the minds of almost everyone. It was but another relic lost to time. That is until the people of Rheanor had no other choice.
