males from reproducing while he wields power. These creatures will not hesitate to use their strength to tear you limb from limb if you are in their territory. Furthermore they are omnivorous and could very well make you their prey if you’re spotted while on the hunt.

Bat Wolf

The combination of a bat and a wolf. The Bat Wolf has the body of a wolf but has the face and wings of a bat. They live mostly underground only coming out at night to hunt. They are carnivorous creatures yet they usually go after small or same sized prey. They do travel and stay in familiar packs. In most cases they are what you would expect from the combination of a wolf and a bat

Griffins

Perhaps one of the greatest and rarest beasts in the world. The Griffin presents a terrible threat to any who are in range to gaze upon its glory. A perfect combination of a lion and an eagle. The Griffin will usually avoid populated areas unless they must venture out of their usual lands in search of food. While these beasts won't hesitate to tear apart anyone if they appear to be a threat or they’re hungry enough when not in a state of desperation this creature usually hunts large prey. While you may not be at risk of a normal hunting Griffin any and all of your livestock could be. Never get in between a Griffin and its meal, as you might join the meal as well if you do so. 

 

The beast's pelts are as prized as they are rare. Some of the richest men have been known to pay a king's ransom to acquire one to show it off as a decoration piece.  They remain so rare because no one would dare go after one of these creatures for any amount of money when the outcome will most likely be your death. However it is on the rare occasion when a Griffin becomes extremely violent in a region where it becomes a government issue. At times small armies have been sent to deal with these fearsome rabid beasts. The pelt only gets sold afterwards so that they can recuperate the losses caused by the now perished Griffin.

Giants

Many men in this world consider themselves to be quite mighty and impressive. Yet they are all left short compared to the great Giants that roam the world. They are not the most common of things and they live separated more like animals than men even if they can speak to some degree. 

 

They craft crude equipment and do employ tools yet they are backwards and barbaric compared to the races of this modern day. It could just be that they are in a later stage of civilization. Perhaps with time and the right development they could match any of the other races in the world. Yet they could very well be extinct before then. Or they could just be stuck in this stage forever. 

 

The average Giant ranges around the size of three men or sixteen feet. They live up to their name as they tower over any and all men. It would be ever so simple for a Giant to crush a man under their foot that's about equal size to the normal man. 

 

It is not known if there is truly a difference between Giants and Cyclops other than their number of eyes. In all other ways they seem similar. Yet perhaps they are just a difference in tribes, maybe they are completely different beings. Yet they have enough similarities to be grouped as the same by the civil races of the world.

Harpies

Harpies are one of the breeds of beasts that have come to attempt to mimic Humanoids in their own twisted beastly form. They are most commonly seen in their female variants. However this is not to say there have not been male versions spotted. Yet the males seem to be much rarer or in the very least not as outgoing as the females. 

 

These beasts could very well go on about their lives hunting like any other fearsome carnivore. Yet it is all too often that they forget about the other easy hunting and turn to take off stray travelers. Those travelers are usually men that they lure away with their voices and melodies. It is realized far too late that those travelers realize that they are walking towards a beast who plans to devour them. 

 

They usually inhabit heavily forested areas or very high mountains and cliffs. Some Harpies are known to lure away men at sea as these are usually the ones located at coastal cliffs. However they are far more often inland yet far more effective as well as only limited reports of them ever surviving.

Maelem Arcanae

Maelem Arcanae or the flesh spider. A giant horror that follows the predatory habits of a spider but on a much larger scale. Commonly referred to as a flesh spider as its pink chitinous plates make it look slightly flesh-like. Maelem Arcanae are completely blind. However, they have very sensitive hearing as well as being able to feel movement. 

 

Unlike most spiders the Maelem Arcanae chooses not to just set up a web and wait. Instead they prowl their lands. Waiting until they hear or sense another creature's presence. In the case they find something they will then trap it in place with their webs. However if it is too big for them to just instantly stick and attempt to fight back then the creature will not hesitate to strike at it until it has died or become too weak to fight on. The prey will then be wrapped up and dragged back to the Maelem Arcanaes lair. Once there it will stick them in place still alive. It will then begin to eat it. At no point does the Maelem Arcanae intentionally kill its prey. Instead it chooses to eat them alive.

Ents

It is said that the Ents are the most ancient thing in the world. For no Ent has ever been born since their first creation. Every Ent that still lives to this day were all born at the same time. They were one of the first creations of living creatures in this world after the Gods. Though they have become fewer and fewer in number, the ones that do remain hold a vast knowledge of the world. 

 

Ents were born from nature and so they live to protect it. They are the forest that comes to life and so they devote their eternal life to making sure that all nature may thrive and live in harmony while they still draw breath. They hold great power that comes from their nearly endless knowledge as well as their usual hulking forms. An Ent will normally never go looking for a fight and will usually leave that to a last resort yet to see an Ent in battle is truly a sight to behold. Yet few are able to walk away from seeing such a thing. 

 

While Ents rarely concern themselves with the cares and woes of the mortal races unless they are forced into it. They have been known to commonly concern themselves with at least one of the mortal races. That being the Wood Elves as they tend to have a common goal and ideals. 

​

Wyverns

The Wyverns are the lesser cousins of the Dragons. They speak Draconic and are intelligent like their kin yet much less powerful and much smaller. Unlike true Dragons the Wyverns upper limbs merge with their wings to become one in the same. Yet in all other ways they look identical to Dragons aside from being on a smaller scale. 

 

Wyverns have always served as a secondary class under the Dragons. They served as commanders during the Dragon wars. Yet just like the Dragons when the world cracked many of them disappeared along with their stronger kin. However a few of these creatures did stay around in fact they became happy with the absence of Dragons and lived a more wild and free life. Whenever a member of the mortal races or any other lesser being found a Wyvern they did make a point to show their strength. In some rare cases Wyverns did keep a following of Dragonborn under their command. But these were in rare and small cases.

Basilisk

Basilisks are known as the lesser siblings of Dragons. However this statement seems quite ironic if you compared some of the greatest Dragons to the greatest Basilisks. While Dragons do eventually reach a state where they stop growing this never occurs for Basilisks. Instead a Basilisk can grow for as long as it lives. Yet with this size it also brings problems of its own. Though  Basilisks speak Draconic and have equal minds to most Dragons they do not have any wings nor arms or legs. Instead the Basilisk dwells beneath the earth. They carve through the land as they slither through it. However most of their life is spent dormant and in hibernation. While the young Basilisks may run rampage through the lands as they are still quite impressive. Their greater and older brethren must conserve most of their energy as their size requires so much that they have difficulty fueling their own metabolism. While the Basilisks can grow for their entire life that life can be very limited because of lack of food. Yet it is said that one of the original Basilisks still lives even to this day. Even when he shudders it is said to shake the world.
